Rhythms Remind us of our Purpose

December 19, 2023

Rhythm’s role in our life

As we have discussed before, a major part of Spiritual Wellness is living a purpose driven life! Building on this idea, today we want to encourage you to make the most of this season in regards to your spiritual wellness by being aware of your rhythms.

Rhythms, or repeated patterns of things that we do or experience, can be powerful tools that help us remember and stay grounded in our purpose. These are the habits, routines, and flows of our lives that we participate in daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually.

Think about it. Christmas is ONE week away. What rhythms will you take part in this upcoming week? Will you see family, friends, and loved ones? Will you attend a worship service on Christmas Eve or Christmas? Will you watch a specific movie, enjoy a certain meal, or participate in a tradition of some kind? I bet the answers to many of those questions are YES. If so, our challenge to you this week is to not skim over those things in a rush.

Rather, in each rhythm that you find yourself involved in, allow that to remind you of the greater purpose that it connects you to.  Are you going to see family? Remember that family is important to you and that although the Holidays are hectic, this can be a sweet time to make memories with loved ones young and old. Are you going to a worship service? Remember the true reason that we celebrate this time of year and how you want to center your life around it. And even this past week, as we near the new year, continue to put daily, monthly, and annual rhythms in your life that connect you to and remind you of your purpose. Lastly, we want you to know that one of our favorite rhythms in our lives is working with you in becoming the best versions of ourselves each and every day!
